At Coastal Charm British Shorthairs, we believe that a healthy kitten begins long before Homecoming Day. Our preventive health program is designed to give every kitten the best possible start while following current feline veterinary recommendations.

Before joining their new families, every Coastal Charm kitten receives age-appropriate veterinary care, preventive treatments, and careful health monitoring.

Every Coastal Charm Kitten Receives

✔ Comprehensive veterinary examinations

✔ Two kitten FVRCP vaccinations (protecting against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia)

✔ Routine deworming beginning in early kittenhood and repeated at appropriate intervals

✔ Individual health monitoring from birth through Homecoming Day

✔ A complete health record to share with your veterinarian

✔ Trupanion Pet Insurance Go Home Day Offer (activation required, Terms & Conditions apply)

Continuing Care

Because every kitten continues to grow after leaving our home, families should schedule a wellness examination with their veterinarian within a few days of bringing their kitten home.

Your veterinarian will discuss:

  • Remaining kitten vaccinations (if needed)

  • Rabies vaccination, as required by state law

  • Lifestyle-based vaccines, such as Feline Leukemia (FeLV), when appropriate

  • Parasite prevention

  • Nutrition and growth

  • Long-term preventive care

We believe establishing a relationship with your family's veterinarian is an important part of responsible pet ownership.

Health Begins with the Parents

Every breeding cat in the Coastal Charm program is carefully selected and screened before becoming part of our breeding program.

Our foundation cats receive:

✔ Comprehensive DNA testing through LABOKLIN

✔ Negative PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) results

✔ Normal HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) echocardiograms

✔ FeLV/FIV negative results

✔ Routine veterinary care and preventive health monitoring
